about

This album was a was a very important statement both lyrically and musically, at least to myself, that I had to make. The music was my first attempt at writing a rock opera influenced by my new love of Andrew Lloyd Webbers "Jesus Christ Superstar", hence why so much of it has recurring themes. In the end the lyrical idea for the rock opera was abandoned and I decided to look elsewhere for lyrical inspiration.
The lyrics stemmed from a variety of places such as the Timothy Finnley book The Butterfly Plague, the so called reality talk shows which proliferated T.V. (Geraldo), a recent break-up with a girl friend who wasn't really right for me and vice versa, and my own inner demons. The event which set this whole lyrical inspiration in motion was the 1996 film "The Long Kiss Goodnight" which featured Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson.
It wasn't until I had a more solid line up of musicians that I decided to record the whole thing which was done during the Fall and Winter of 2003/2004 with the release being in the Spring of 2004. In addition to myself on Vocals and Keys, the original recording features Chris Reid on guitar, Richard Rizzo on drums and Andrew Buntain on bass.

Wilton Said... Toronto, Ontario

Baritone and occasional jazz infused vocalist Wilton has long skirted on the outside of the Pop/Rock genre. While one could call the music "Art Rock", it still doesn't do justice to the eclectic elements contained in the song writing, arrangements and lyrics. With influences ranging from Queen, The Cure, Rush, and Kate Bush, the music of Wilton Said... is ready for your listening pleasure. ... more
